Sequatchie County ‘Fairest of the Fair’ pageant set for Aug. 9th

Sequatchie County’s ‘Fairest of the Fair’ pageant is coming up on Saturday, August 9th with morning pageants at 10:00 AM and evening pageants at 6:00 PM.

The annual event, which kicks-off the Sequatchie County Fair each year, will feature winners in multiple categories.

The ‘Fairest of the Fair’ main pageant is for those age 16-20 (with entrants not reaching their 21st birthday by Jan. 1, 2026). The ‘Teen Miss’ is for ages 13-15.  These categories are open only for those who live or attend school in Sequatchie County.

Other age groups open to any Tennessee resident include: ‘Sweet Miss’ for ages 0-6 months; ‘Baby Miss’ for 7-11 months; ‘Wee Miss’ for 12-23 months; ‘Toddler Miss’ for 2-3 years; ‘Little Miss’ for 4-5 years; ‘Junior Miss’ for 6-8 years; ‘Tween Miss’ for 9-12 years; ‘Special Miss’ for all ages of special needs contestants; and ‘Senior Miss’ for those 55 and older.

The cost to enter is $25 each, with each additional sibling costing only $15.  Early entries are encouraged and the deadline is August 7th, 2025.

Morning pageants will include the younger-age categories from birth to 8 years along with the ‘Special Miss’ contest. Evening pageants will be for ‘Teen Miss,’ ‘Fairest of the Fair,’ and ‘Senior Miss.’

The cost to attend the pageants is $5, with one adult admission at no charge for each contestant under the age of 18.

The Sequatchie County Fair takes place August 14th – 16th, 2025, with carnival rides beginning August 12th with many other events scheduled throughout the fair dates.
