Area law enforcement and banking institutions are warning residents about a scam.
Criminals call residents claiming to be from the Federal Trade Commission or the FBI. They try to convince their victims to withdraw money from their accounts and place it in a cryptocurrency ATM.
The scammers use fear and urgency to push their victims into unwise decisions. If you received such a call and want to research its validity, contact your financial institution for help.
