Student from Franklin County Arrested for Threats and Attempted Murder

Press Release:

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident involving a juvenile who made concerning statements and was later found in possession of multiple weapons in Huntland.

On the afternoon of September 15, 2025, school officials notified the Sheriff’s Office about multiple student statements regarding threats made by a juvenile. The reports described verbal threats of violence involving weapons and behavior that caused concern among students and staff. Our office was actively investigating the threats on September 15, 2025.

In the early morning of September 16, 2025, Deputies responded to Huntland, where the same juvenile was located near Main Street, approximately two blocks from Huntland School. The juvenile was found in possession of a sword, bow, arrows, knives, and other personal belongings. The juvenile was detained while the investigation continued.

Our investigation revealed that the juvenile had previously been withdrawn from Huntland School and is not currently enrolled in Franklin County Schools.

The juvenile has been charged with three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, Threats of Mass Violence, Unlawful Carrying and Possession of a Weapon, and Making a False Report to Law Enforcement.

The identities of the suspect and potential victims cannot be released because they are all juveniles.

Sheriff Tim Fuller stated, “The safety of our students and schools remains our top priority. We will always act swiftly on any information regarding threats to ensure our community remains safe. I commend the quick action and teamwork by our patrol division, school resource officer division, and criminal investigation division.”
