Grundy County school board members have reported recent instances of students possessing THC gummies and are investigating how these substances are being obtained.
During a meeting on Tuesday, board member Angela Nunley referenced two cases involving THC gummies at local schools.
Sheriff Heath Gunter stated that his department is seeking to collaborate with the school board to address the issue of drugs in schools. Additionally, the sheriff asked for community support in addressing stores that may be selling these products to underage individuals. Sheriff Gunter also mentioned the possibility that THC gummies could be distributed among students.
“An SRO explained that the gummies can be bought at schools in Grundy. There is an active investigation into where and how students buy the gummies.”
Sheriff Gunter says the situation remains under investigation and that any students found with THC gummies will face charges.
