Chris Webb
Veteran law enforcement officer brings 30 years of experience and leadership to open Sheriff race.
Longtime law enforcement officer Chris Webb has officially announced his candidacy for Marion County Sheriff. In his announcement video, Webb stated he knows what real leadership looks like and will give deputies what they need to achieve success. If elected, Webb pledged to bring integrity and accountability while working as a proven leader within the Sheriff’s Office.
Webb began his career with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in 1993 before joining the Kimball Police Department in 1995, where he rose through the ranks from patrol officer to sergeant and then to captain. Over his 32-year career, Webb has earned a reputation as a steady leader dedicated to improving officer training, communication between agencies, and public trust.
Today, Webb serves as the General Department Instructor, overseeing all departmental training and certification for submission to the Tennessee POST Commission. In addition, he serves as the Network Coordinator for the Cumberland Region of the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, where he works with 27 county sheriff’s officers and 58 police departments to advance highway safety and interagency cooperation across the region.
“Marion County is my home, and it deserves a Sheriff who understands what it takes to lead with experience,” stated Webb. “I’ve spent my entire career serving this community and helping train the men and women who protect it every day. As Sheriff, I’ll make sure our deputies have the tools, training, and support they need to keep every family safe.”
Throughout his career, Webb has continued his professional education, completing advanced training in investigations, supervision, and law enforcement management. He has served on the Board of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Officers Association, is the Past President of the Fraternal Order of Police and was recognized as Officer of the Year by Marion County’s local VFW.
Webb is a lifelong Marion County resident, who has been married to his high school sweetheart, Stacey Webb, for 34 years. Together they have two daughters, Ashlyn and Autumn, and are proud grandparents of two grandchildren.
“I’ve dedicated my life to law enforcement and to this county,” Webb said. “As Sheriff, I’ll work every day to build an office that is professional, transparent, and focused on protecting Marion County.”
