A Verizon outage has affected individuals and businesses across the nation on Wednesday.
Some customers who have iPhones experienced their device being in “SOS” mode.
This means that the devices did not have adequate cell service.
About 66% of the reported problems have involved customers’ mobile phones. In this situation, individuals were only able to make emergency calls or use WiFi to make regular calls.
Verizon posted on X that they are aware of an issue impacting wireless voice and data services for some customers. “Our engineers are engaged and are working to identify and solve the issue quickly. We understand how important reliable connectivity is and apologize for the inconvenience.”
By late in the day, service was being restored for impacted customers.
