Marion County Road Superintendent Cory Pickett says crews with the Marion County Highway Department are closely-following the weather predictions for the upcoming weekend.
Pickett says they are hoping for the best, however preparing for the worst.
He says residents are fortunate to have a dedicated group of workers who will step up to the plate should the need arise.
Crews have been working ahead of the storm to prepare salt, get brine tanks and mixes ready, and ensure equipment used to spread the salt and brine along with plows installed on trucks ready to go in a moment’s notice.
Pickett says his department and crew will do their best to keep everyone updated and make the roads as safe as possible, but also encourage people to avoid travel should foul weather actually occur unless absolutely necessary.
