SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — A woman is dead after being struck by a train in Scottsboro on Wednesday, according to local authorities.
Emergency responders were called to the scene near Ridgedale Road in Scottsboro at about 8:49 a.m. after reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a train. The woman was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries. Authorities have not yet released her identity pending notification of family members.
Officials said the incident remains under investigation.
