Scottsboro Planning Independence Day Celebration in Downtown Area

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — The Downtown Scottsboro association is preparing for a community-wide Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2026, featuring a variety of family-friendly activities, local vendors, a patriotic parade, and a crowd-favorite pie-eating contest.

According to organizers, the event will take place in downtown Scottsboro and is designed to bring residents and visitors together for a day of patriotic pride, community spirit, and family fun.

A vendor market will allow attendees to browse products from local businesses and artisans while supporting area entrepreneurs. Organizers say the market will offer a variety of unique items throughout the day.

One of the featured attractions will be a patriotic parade through Scottsboro. The parade is expected to include decorated golf carts, side-by-sides, marching bands, community organizations, and creatively decorated vehicles displaying red, white, and blue themes. Event organizers are currently seeking additional participants to join the parade.

The celebration will also include a blueberry pie-eating contest, giving participants an opportunity to compete for bragging rights in one of the event’s most anticipated activities.

Officials say the event is intended to celebrate freedom, community, and hometown pride while providing entertainment and activities for all ages.

Those interested in becoming a vendor or participating in the parade can find registration information through Downtown Scottsboro’s event sign-up forms.
