On Wednesday, at approximately 9:50 a.m. an inmate from the Grundy County Jail attempted to escape during recreation time.
The inmate was able to climb the first level of the facility’s security and entered an area containing razor wire.
A Grundy County Corrections Officer, assisted by two Grundy County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies were able to quickly apprehend the inmate.
The inmate was returned to custody, evaluated and cleared by medical staff and will be charged with attempted escape.
