Missing Dade County Woman Found Safe After Weeks-Long Search

UPDATE: The Dade County Sheriff’s Office says a woman who had been missing since mid-April has been located.

Authorities confirmed that 43-year-old Rebekah Jean Massey has been found after weeks of searching by family members, community volunteers, and law enforcement agencies.

As we previously reported, the sheriff’s office originally announced Massey’s disappearance on May 9, stating she had last been seen on April 15 in the Trenton, Georgia, or Chattanooga, Tennessee, areas.

In an update shared by the sheriff’s office, officials thanked the public and neighboring agencies for their assistance in locating her.

“Much thanks to our community members, surrounding community members, and neighboring law enforcement, for helping us locate this female!” the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities have not released additional details about Massey’s condition or whereabouts at the time she was found.

Prior to her being located, family members said they had not heard from Massey since early April and feared something was wrong after she reportedly left Parkridge Main Hospital alone on April 15 following a call about chest pains.

Relatives described her disappearance as sudden and out of character, noting that medications had been left behind at her home along with food still in the refrigerator.

Family members had spent weeks pleading for information and continuing search efforts while hoping for her safe return.

No further information has been released at this time.
