The race featured two veteran members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office seeking to succeed retiring Sheriff Rocky Harnen, who will leave office when his current term ends in January.

Throughout the campaign, Holcomb emphasized his experience and years of service with the sheriff’s office, pledging to continue serving the citizens of Jackson County.

Following the victory, supporters gathered outside the Jackson County Courthouse to congratulate Holcomb on the election outcome.

“I am blessed and honored to have the support of my family and the people of Jackson County,” Holcomb said following the win. “Whether they voted for me or not, it doesn’t matter. My main purpose is to serve the people of this county.”

Holcomb said his commitment extends to all residents of Jackson County regardless of background or political support.

With no Democratic candidate filing for the office, Holcomb’s Republican runoff victory effectively assures his election as Jackson County’s next sheriff. He is expected to take office in January following the conclusion of Harnen’s term.
