Rev. Joseph Manis ("Brother Joey") grew up in Marion County and attended South Pittsburg High School. After graduation, he attended Emory University, Lee University, and Hiwassee College. He became an ordained minister with the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church, recently serving as the pastor of McKendree and Wells Chapel UMC in Jasper. He and wife Cheryl and their younger children now live in Decatur, TN, where he's pastor of both Decatur UMC and Concord UMC.
