Sequatchie Valley Now has learned that Marion County Election Administrator Kyra Inglis resigned from her position effective Friday, August 4, 2023. The Election Commission has chosen Deputy Administrator Nicole Wilemon to serve as the new Administrator. Truck Hauling Gravestones Catches Fire on I-24

At 6:14 on Thursday morning, Haletown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a truck fire on I-24 westbound at mile-marker 163. The semi-truck was hauling granite gravestones. Haletown Engines 1 and 2 responded to the scene and quickly extinguished the flames. Jasper and Kimball Fire Departments were called in for mutual aid assistance and water supply. …
