On Saturday night, shortly after 8 PM, Haletown Fire and Rescue responded to a mutual aid call on Elder Mountain. An uncontrolled wildfire was threatening three structures. Upon arrival, Haletown firefighters collaborated with Chattanooga Fire, which had successfully brought the fire under control. The Haletown team promptly began extinguishing the remaining hot spots.
On November 5, 2023, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the South Pittsburg Mountain Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to Jackson Point Rd for a wildland fire. Engine 1 responded with six members.
