The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports a missing person, Phillip Gage Thrasher, who was last heard from on March 31, 2024.  Thrasher was last seen on Prior Ridge Rd at the Grundy County line.  If you have any information, contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 423-942-2525.

Husband and Wife from Whitwell Die in Tragic Car Crash on Sunday

According to reports, Whitwell residents 55-year-old Dwight Vandergriff and 58-year-old Barbara Vandergriff died in a head-on crash on Highway 108 north of Whitwell on Sunday. The roadway was closed after the accident took place on Sunday morning. Vehicle Fire Closed Interstate 24 on Friday

On Friday, at 2:19 PM Haletown Volunteer Fire Department responded to Interstate 24 at mile marker 160 for a vehicle fire. Haletown firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
