The Haletown Volunteer Fire Department responded to an out of control brush fire on Tuesday at Hales Bar Marina and Resort.
The department was dispatched around 1:00 PM CDT to the blaze. Engines 1 and 2 arrived to find a large pile of brush on fire and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and keep damage contained to an immediate area.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Officials with the department say the department’s new cadet, Landon Case, was able to put his newly-learned skills to use on the call and also advise the public to be responsible with burns and brush piles at this time due to recent dry weather.
