The Marion County Sheriff’s Department in cooperation with our local schools in the area awarded selected students in each school with a “Kindness Award” this school year.
School staff and the School Resource Deputy chose a student within each school in the county to be recognized. Recipients must have exhibited friendliness to all, generosity, and be known to go above and beyond to help others.
The award, created as part of MCSD’s “D.A.R.E.” program anti-bullying initiative is one officials with the department hope to continue for years to come.
Each student recipient received a certificate and was awarded a $50 gift card made possible by sponsor partners Builtwell Bank in Jasper and Century 21 Cumberland Realty in Jasper. Recipients were also recognized on the MCSD social media pages.
