On Tuesday around 5 AM, the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department reported to the 200 block of Rankins Cove Church Road for a fully involved structure fire.
Firefighters began battling the blaze and received manpower assistance from the Jasper Fire Department and Jasper Highlands.
The fire was quickly extinguished by fire crews. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters. The family lost five dogs to the fire. The Red Cross was notified, and they are helping the family.
