UPDATED INFORMATION:
A second suspect is behind bars now following a vehicle pursuit that happened Wednesday night in North Alabama across two counties and ending in Scottsboro.
Jackson County Sheriff Ricky Harnen says the suspect was caught in the woods near the intersection of AL-35 and AL-79 Thursday morning.
The other suspect had been caught Wednesday night.
Officials say deputies in Madison County attempted to assist the Huntsville Police Department with a vehicle pursuit on Wednesday night which originated near the Providence area of Huntsville, later ending in Scottsboro.
The suspects reportedly had stolen a white Dodge Charger and then allegedly attempted to steal a truck from a car lot in the Providence area.
Madison County Sheriff’s Department says that during the attempted theft, the suspects confronted a security officer and began firing shots before fleeing the scene in the stolen Charger.
The security officer was wounded and transported to an area hospital for treatment. The sheriff’s office says his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening and he’s expected to make a full recovery.
Huntsville Police advised the fleeing vehicle had exceeded dangerous and reckless speeds along U.S. Highway 72 as the pursuit entered Jackson County.
Madison County and Huntsville Police authorities terminated the pursuit out of safety concerns for the public at this point.
Scottsboro Police picked up the chase and later apprehended the suspects.
The names of the suspects and their charges have not been released at this time.

The Scottsboro Police Department is searching for a suspect after a vehicle pursuit on Wednesday night.
A department spokesperson says the driver led officers on a pursuit from Madison County to a location off AL-35 in Jackson County.
That’s where the driver exited the vehicle and ran away on foot.
The department does not have a description of the driver at this time.
