Scottsboro Police officers responded to a disturbance involving a man with a machete at a home on Orange Street last week.
According to reports, officers say they arrived at the residence on Tuesday, February 17th at approximately 10:05 p.m., and found 42-year-old Eric Maurice Scott acting erratically in a bedroom while wielding a machete. After a verbal and physical altercation, Scott was taken into custody.
Officers recovered the machete and discovered illegal narcotics, including synthetic cannabinoids and methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia.
Scott was initially taken to the Scottsboro City Jail and later transferred to the Jackson County Jail.
He is charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of synthetic cannabinoids and drug paraphernalia, domestic violence, and resisting arrest.
