Theft suspect’s arrest leads to meth charges in Scottsboro

A theft suspect captured by the Scottsboro Police Department on Monday was also found to have methamphetamine on him at the time of his arrest.

According to Scottsboro Police, a call came in around 10:30am from a business in the 500 block of W. Willow Street alerting authorities to the suspect. Officers were told he had fled the store on foot with stolen merchandise.

Officers soon located the suspect in another nearby business, where he ran inside and made his way to a locked interior door.

Scottsboro Police says Jeffrey Hensley was taken into custody after a brief struggle with officers, who also found meth and drug paraphernalia on him.

Hensley now faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Theft of Property 4th Degree

 

Hensley has been transferred from the Scottsboro City Jail to the Jackson County Jail.
