A multi-vehicle crash closed both directions of State Route 111 in Sequatchie County on Wednesday night, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 8:32pm CDT Wednesday near past the scenic overlook on the southbound lanes before reaching the top of the mountain and Lewis Chapel.
Authorities were forced to close northbound and southbound lanes as crews respond to the scene.
Officials have not released details on injuries or what led to the crash at this time, however one of the vehicles with significant damage was reported to be a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office SUV.
Tennessee Highway Patrol was on scene at that crash, having shut down Highway 111 between East Valley Road and Lewis Chapel Road.
