Haletown Volunteer Fire Department Receives CSX Grant

The Haletown Volunteer Fire Department has announced that they have received a CSX Railroad grant of $5,000. These funds will be used towards cribbing and struts, giving the Haletown firefighters the rescue tools they need to provide vehicle extrication services.

Strong Storms Power through the area on Thursday

A strong thunderstorm powered through the valley on Thursday afternoon, bringing high winds and heavy rain. Several communities lost power due to the severe winds and lightning. Outages occurred in Bledsoe, Marion, Grundy, and Sequatchie counties in Tennessee and Jackson County, Alabama. Flash flooding also appeared in several areas in the Sequatchie Valley.
